Having problem getting feedback? Here’s my fix: be Dutch.
TLDR: I use this template to get feedback in a timely fashion:
I would like feedback on X.
If I do not get feedback on X by Y; then I will do Z.
Here’s what spawned me to document this in a blog post. An acquaintance asked a group for feedback on an email she was writing. Here was the original:
Hey {redacted},I haven’t heard back yet from my email on 6/14. At this point I’m pretty disappointed. I paid for {redacted} in full back in March, and while I understand the pandemic obviously delayed things, businesses are open now and I do expect this will be taken care of quickly, as it’s been almost 3 months. I’m even willing to drive to {redacted} instead of having you come down to {redacted} since I know that’s more economical for you. That being said, I really need to hear back from you and get this scheduled.If this isn’t possible for you, I’m fine with you giving me a refund and we can go our separate ways, but if we’re gonna do this, let’s do this quickly.Thanks,{redacted}
She was concerned about it being too forceful. I, however am Dutch. The Dutch are known for being insanely blunt/direct…

I mean there are meme’s about it:

Back to the topic at hand. I suggested she adopt my approach:
We chatted a bit about it. And then she revised:
